Answers to common questions about our events and conferences.

Registration for most events can be completed online through our website. Each event page features a registration form and payment options. For larger conferences, you may also register by phone or email. Early registration is encouraged as many events have limited capacity and offer early bird discounts.

Cancellation policies vary by event type. For our annual conference, cancellations received more than 60 days prior to the event start date receive a full refund minus a $50 processing fee. Cancellations 30-60 days prior receive a 75% refund. Cancellations less than 30 days prior are non-refundable, but registration may be transferred to another individual. For mission trips, deposits are generally non-refundable due to advance planning requirements.

Yes, many of our educational events and conferences offer continuing education credits for eye care professionals. The specific number of credits and accreditation information is listed on each event page. Attendees must sign in at sessions and complete any required evaluations to receive credit. Certificates are typically provided within two weeks following the event.

For international events like our annual conference in Mexico City, attendees are responsible for securing their own travel arrangements, including flights and visas if required. We negotiate special rates with conference hotels and provide information about local transportation options. We recommend purchasing travel insurance and checking travel advisories before departure. For mission trips, we provide more comprehensive pre-trip orientation and guidance.

We welcome proposals for presentations, workshops, and posters for many of our events. The annual conference features a formal call for abstracts that typically opens 8-10 months before the event. Submission guidelines and deadlines are posted on our website. For regional meetings and workshops, contact the event coordinator directly to discuss presentation opportunities. We particularly encourage submissions related to innovative approaches to global vision care.
